MILTON 鈥 Junction Function, hosted by the Milton Area Chamber of Commerce, the event will be held on Saturday, Oct. 11 from 1-6 p.m., stretching across the parking lot along Merchant Row.
The event will include a Grill Battle, a Bake Off and a bags tournament as well as live music, a beer garden, vendors, raffles and family activities.
Both the BBQ Battle chefs and the Bake Off bakers will prepare their favorite recipes, and the winners in each competition will receive prizes. There are no set categories鈥攖he chefs and bakers are free to choose. Each first-place winner will receive $500. Second place winners receive $250. Three judges will judge each event beginning at 12:30 p.m.
Admission to Junction Function is free, but if you鈥檇 like to sample what the grillers and bakers have made, 100 VIP tickets are available for $15 each. The VIP tickets allow early entrance to the event at 12:30, samples of the food made, a chance to vote for People鈥檚 Choice and one free entry into the raffle for a 36鈥 Blackstone Grill donated by First Community Bank.
Teams of two can compete in the bags tournament from 2-4 p.m. The first-place team will win $200.
Entertainment will be provided by Matt Andrus from 1-2:30 p.m., singer/songwriter YOWK from 2:30-3 p.m. and The Andy Ellefson Trio featuring Tom Holland from 3-6 p.m.
Beer and wine will be available for purchase at the beer garden. Soda and water will also be available.
More than twenty vendors will set up in Railroad Park, across from Merchant Row. They鈥檒l have merchandise for sale and also food and beverages. Picnic tables are scattered throughout the park.
Anyone attending the event can enter to win several prizes. The Junction Function Raffle offers a chance to win a 36-inch Blackstone Grill donated by First Community Bank. Tickets are $10 each and the grill is on display at the bank. VIP attendees have one ticket for this raffle included in the cost of their VIP package.
Tickets for the Meat Jackpot Raffle are $10 each. Grand prize is a Half O鈥 Hog from Sorgs Quality Meats & Sausages. Second and third prizes are gift cards for $200 and $100 respectively for Milton Meat Market. Tickets for this raffle began at the MACC Pork Roast in August and continue at Junction Function.
