JANESVILLE 鈥 A 22-year-old Burlington man is facing multiple charges in Rock County including alleged abduction and sexual assault of a child.
According to a release, Janesville police responded on Tuesday, Oct. 7, to a report of a possible child abduction in the 1500 block of Woodman Road. The caller said Daniel Munoz had left the residence with their child.
Through coordinated efforts, officers located both the child and Munoz in Walworth County, the release said.
Further investigation by Janesville Police Department Detectives revealed that alleged criminal activity involving the suspect and child had occurred over several months in both Janesville and Milton. Detectives from the Janesville Police Department and Milton Police Departments collaborated closely throughout the investigation, which resulted in Munoz鈥檚 arrest. The investigation remains ongoing.
Charges Munoz is facing in Rock County Circuit Court include second-degree sexual assault of a child, abduction of another person鈥檚 child, two counts of possession of child pornography, repeated sexual assault of the same child, child enticement, battery as domestic violence, disorderly conduct as domestic violence, and strangulation as domestic violence.
